Use the best quality oil you can as it will always be cheaper than replacing your turbo....we use castrol RS 10 w 60 in our 600 screaming horse RX7  and if you're going to cane it alot i suggest you change it more often too build it and drive it like a race car.... you need to service like one too :?
you can also get a delay for your engine so once you turn it off it will keep running for a preset amount of time and then cut the engine once your turbo has cooled similar to what your rad cooling fans do.

Just out of curiousity, does any one know what a 3.0 biturbo engine would cost, and were to get it. :?:

Another thing when comparing power figures, is alot of Japanese cars make lots of power simply through revs. An Rx7, Skyline can make 400 odd bhp but at around 8-9000rpm.

Er my Skyline makes 400bhp at 6500 rpm on 13psi boost.

It is no longer possible to source a 3.0 biturbo engine - the conversion was done by the german BMW tuners Hartge and they are no hope whatsoever. Remember that engine is transverse too not inline. I bought the 2nd last new engine from Goudzone in France a couple of years ago but it came without turbos and manifolds so I've converted it to a big single turbo and inline fitting using GTA parts.

Yes but your Lexus will!

Postby Tony Smith » Tue Oct 11, 2005 8:16 am

I bet you can buy off the shelf parts to get your Lexus up to 400bhp. Mind you I bet they weigh a bit!

So maybe I have more KGs than your Skyline.
The book says I have a kerb weight of 1725 add 80 litres of fuel and a driver I guess I'm nearly at 1,900 Kg.
No wonder they have a habit of eating brakes for Lunch.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh but what a glide of a ride and there is always plenty of power to kick in when required.
Pure pleasure travelling to and from work, it's just the bit in between that is Hell.

Postby Tony Smith » Tue Oct 11, 2005 12:00 pm

With my ex wife I used to find the bit between driving home from work and going back in the morning the hell!

So Tony what are the differences between your 'biturbo' engine now that it's been reconfigured and that of an A610?

If your gonna start complaining about BHP this and that, and spending loads of cash.

My answer is, save up and build yourself one of these b@stards!!!!!!
You can build it in stages.

Postby Tony Smith » Wed Oct 12, 2005 5:25 pm

I'll never remember them all! Sump, oil pickup, engine mounts and block spacer plate, inlet manifold, waterpump, loads of plumbing, distributor (same but in opposite bank), turbo, exhaust manifolds, plenum chamber, rocker covers I'm sure theres loads of other stuff I've forgot!
