Well ..... That;s a new one on me locktite on driveshaft splines, ...... but I suppose it will stop the gearbox oil from finding its way to the roll pins. :o

It looks as if the driveshaft was fitted with locktite originally judging by the quote above.

No loctite on the gearbox end, only on the hub end...

Driveshaft was a bit stuck on the hub end, slid out of the gearbox end fine, after removing the roll pin.

My struggle to get the driveshaft out was due to poor alignment (my fault) and doing things in the wrong order. The other side was easier - I pushed it out of the hub before removing it from the gearbox.

Previous owner(s) had used grease on the hub end, but the manual does say to use loctite on the hub end. Just don't really know what to do!

The hub nut is done up so tight I can’t see loctite making any difference at all.

Good call with the sleeves btw. Always fit them as a matter of course if you can afford it.

Rear hub nuts have been known to work loose ,one side,so perhaps this was added to the A610 manual for extra safety. Those sleeves are pretty cheap so in the grand scheme of things then I may start fitting them as another no brainer on full resto.
I haven't had any big issues with leakage tho apart from one and most of the time it's coming out the roll pins if not sealed up quite right.
Thing to mention on install ...The roll pin only goes in one way.You can be half a spline out so take care and check before you knock it in,you can be 180 degrees out .
