GTA wheel nuts - taper problems

Postby Simon_Wej » Mon Jan 22, 2018 2:48 pm

Hi....I recently bought some wheel spacers for my GTA....it's running original wheels.

The rear spacer is fine and re-uses the original bolts (M12 x 1.5mm, 26mm thread length, 19mm bolt head, 45 degree taper).

The problem is the front wheels....with the 12mm spacer in place, the original bolts are now too short and I need bolts with a 40mm thread length. Easy enough you might think, but virtually every wheel bolt out there has a 60 degree taper, not 45 degree :down .

So.....does anyone know where I can buy 45 degree taper wheel bolts, ideally 40mm length but I can cut longer ones down?

Or is it a case of buying 60 degree taper bolts and getting them machined to a 45 degree taper?

Any help much appreciated! Thanks, Simon
