Picked up my winter runabout yesterday - 310 bhp sports saloon, every imaginable extra, one of the sweetest straight 6's of modern times 79K excellent condition £2200 Any guesses?

Its a Lexus on an L plate!

Its the JDM version of the Lexus GS300 - the big difference is that in Japan this version is fitted with the twin turbo lump from the Supra. Its big and its heavy but surprisingly agile, that engine is unbelievably smooth and once your moving it flies. And the build quality is fantastic, its 11 years old yet everything feels and works like new - just like my Quadra!!

VERY good choice mate, I can say so myself.

Rather than arriving at the destination on a high because of the adreniline rush (GTA), I find I still arrive on a high because I'm refreshed (Lexus comfort).

So far 6 thousand miles of pure luxury motoring in the last 3 months. Take care, spririted driving allows 'em to eat front brakes, fast!

500 miles from a tank is ok for me, the LS400 has an 18.5 gallon tank, not sure what Tony will have in his GS, but I always have to use a credit-card as there is never enough cash in my wallet when I fill up (£70 ouch, but worth it).

Maybe you ment, "it's a very heavy car to push to the petrol station", that it is, 1800kg empty, but luckly not had to do that with a car for many many years, (that's what the RAC is for at my age)
