H6 GTA

Postby Ggeo1uk » Sat Apr 27, 2019 9:09 am

Morning all. I’ve just bought H6 GTA 1990 GTA Turbo :up

Epic 160 mile drive home in sunshine, torrential rain, thunder and lightning. Took it in it’s stride.

It needs a few things doing.

First I need an original steering wheel. The one on it is completely wrong.

I will also need an original stereo. There is an aftermarket Alpine (nice touch) face off unit in place at the moment.

The speedo isn’t working. Any ideas?

It’s on Azev wheels, and is a hoot to drive. I’m really looking forward to using it.

Any help and advice gratefully accepted,

All the best,

George

Welcome George,
Where about in the UK are you?
If you search on here there are lots of suggestions about how to fix the speedo, most issues are dirty connections problems either in the connector in the engine bay (each model has a different location for this, and I don't have a turbo) or the ones around the instrument panel.
The expert is John C who I'm sure will give you help and advice if the other posts don't get it fixed.
My own one is a bit intermittent...at the dashboard end and will get attention when the dash next comes apart, but is working more and more of the time as the car gets used.
Steering wheel and radio? Stephen Dell, Rats and Big MVS will be your best sources. Stephen recently broke a GTA, although it was earlier than yours recently so should have some bits left as well as having the biggest Alpine parts inventory in the UK.

Hi Stephen and Lee.
Thanks For getting in touch Stephen, I’ll take the gear knob and steering wheel ;)
Thanks for the advice Lee.
I’m in London and will use it and get to events when I can.
Be good to see yours,
All the best,
George

Glad I didn't break this now!

Nice to see it back on the road again. Can't help you with any of the bits sorry but looks like Steve has them all for you.

Have fun in your new Alpine.
