Wanted: GTA spare wheel jack

Postby Juzzblack » Fri Nov 04, 2005 12:42 am

I'm after an original GTA spare wheel jack after breaking mine. Anyone got one they don't want?

D.G., the GTA Turbo you're breaking, has it still got it's original jack?

Hi,
I tried a couple of breakers earlier in the year without luck (but DG may be better).
I then tried to buy one from Renault & got a price - £40. I swallowed a little and ordered it. Then they said they could not supply.

Eventually I got one for a Vauxhall Astra (virtually new) - it fits the orginal carrying brackets on my 610 and also fits the jacking points. It looks the same as the one from my Audi.

Just a thought in case you cannot find a genuine one. I don't think they are pretty standard items- except the logo of course.

A4 Audis have an exact replica Alpine aluminium jack. A B4 Audi has the same jack but in steel. I bought an alloy one and then lost it from the bracket in the back, and so now I have the stronger steel jack in the front boot, wrapped in a towel.

Thanks for the info. I did try Renault but they said it was no longer available. :( So I was trying to find other cars that might have the same style jack that would fit the jacking points. Cheers! :D
