I seem to be having the same rattling issues as others have mentioned - mainly on the passenger door. If I lean over and press gently on the metal part it stops but not very helpful on a long drive...

Drivers side door also rattles to a lesser extent but still a bit annoying.

A couple of other small niggles:

- the electrochromic rear view mirror seems to permanently darkened which makes seeing out the back even more challenging than the letter box already allows.

- the car always starts with the audio mode on 'aux' and emits a buzzing static noise until I manually switch to bluetooth - even if I don't want any audio playing.

Have an appointment with Alpine West London in a few days but if anyone has resolved the above issues I'd be grateful for any input!

I'm sure that Andy at Alpine West London will be able to sort out your door rattles - it's a well known problem with a well known fix. The other things are new to me. Andy is an enthusiast and knowledgable so if you work with him I'm sure he' ll do his very best to get to the bottom other issues.

Thanks for the quick reply - that's good to know.

Otherwise - mechanically everything else has been fine (for the first 500 miles at least) - and that's driving through some pretty atrocious weather in the last month!

Just realised I had rudely forgotten to upload a photo before launching into a bunch of questions. As I'm pretty sure you all know what an Alpine looks like - here is mine with a small modification...

Ha I couldn’t work out what the mod was but I knew it was at the front.

A fan of the Caterham concept?

I think I prefer it with the four headlights - without them it just looks like a generic sports car from a racing game!

not an official option is it? looks like a lot of work involved!
never thought I would want a list but now find myself needing one just to remind me: Clio V6 230, 5 gt turbo, 5 Gordini turbo, Megane RS 300 Trophy.

Hmm without the extra headlamps it looks too much like an mr2 to me.

I think the 4 headlight look adds a lot to the identity of the car. I also wouldn't want to be without the driving lights at night, they're bloody awesome!

Why stop at 4 - let's have a full rally spec front end!

Andy and the team @ Alpine West London did indeed fix the door rattling!

The AUX audio mode static/buzzing noise appears to be consistent with other Alpines so has just been noted and passed on to HQ. Maybe there'll be a future fix if enough people highlight it as an issue.

The dark rear view mirror issue was resolved too - it was simply flipped into manual dim mode (I don't have the electrochromic version) and I'd been driving the first 500+ miles with it set wrong. Yes I am an idiot.

Very nice. Has anyone fitted a pair of Cibie spot lights yet similar to the original cars ?
